True teamwork is about playing the full game and staying focused on the ultimate goal. Any time you’re in a situation where your back is against a wall or you’re playing in a hostile environment, I believe you play better as a team.Įven though our game last week versus the Eskimos didn’t end the way we wanted it to, we did some great things to get points when we needed to and force overtime. I like to think of myself as a pretty upbeat guy, and I truly believe that you can always find positive things after a loss. I know we have some great players on this team and we just need to execute on the field to prove that we’re capable of winning big games. Any time you lose leaders on the field due to injury, it can pose a bit of a challenge but I know this team has faith in the guys coming in to take their places. This season has been difficult for us because we have lost a number of veteran guys in key positions. Although our record is 5 and 10, there have been a number of games this season that we were in control of but we just ultimately couldn’t close. While we can’t change what happened in the past, we certainly are in control of what happens this week – we just need to go out there and play good football.Īt times this season, we’ve played some great football and that’s really the key to success: to play a full 60 minutes of the kind of football that will win games. As a team, our mindset is to always keep looking ahead.

Part of being a professional athlete is facing adversity from time to time and while sometimes it isn’t easy to get up after a tough loss and go to work, we know that every week is a new opportunity to prove ourselves. If we take care of business and get a win over the Stampeders, we’ll be successful and I know this team is more than capable of doing that.
There are three regular season games left and we’re still in control of our own destiny. There’s no question that going into McMahon Stadium this Friday will be a challenge, but I know my teammates and I are looking at this game as an opportunity to get us that much closer to the post-season.
